RI: Assembly OKs Bill Alerting Parents to Sex Offenders Living Near Bus Stops

The Rhode Island General Assembly passed legislation introduced by Senate Majority Leader Michael J. McCaffrey (D-Dist. 29, Warwick) and Rep. Joseph J. Solomon Jr. (D-Dist. 22, Warwick) that would mandate the notification of parents of schoolchildren when sex offenders are living near school bus stops. Full Article

I see another one doing what he can for the tough on sex offenders thing, I would love to see what his votes have been while in office. It never fails when you get people who pull this usually don’t bother with anything else unless it goes with they’re political career.

Eventually there will be so many notification laws and options, they will be meaningless. Of course, this thought is premised on the notion that RC laws will continue to withstand judicial scrutiny.

Note it is for Level 3 offenders, not that that is right, at least it is not all registrants.

The fuse has been lit, wait till the parents start demanding the Bus stops be moved, that’s when the fun starts.

You had better believe that some CA Legislators are taking note on actions such as this. CA level 3 citizens are in for one heck of a ride..
